Sunny Skies

Sunflowers and blue sunny skies.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Our local tourist attraction PENN'S CAVE plants sunflowers every year. This year there are 3 fields of them.  Not sure what they do with them but they sure attract alot of photographers, me included.

I haven't been to a sunflower seeds but always love the photos. I know someone who works for a company here who plants a lot of those too for tourism, and they created a maze of sunflowers which people enjoy! Maybe those in yours plant them for seeds or for oil, as sunflower oil is mainly the base for some essential oils.

Oh, my, I would love to see these for myself...there used to be a few fields of sunflowers around here, but they only did that a couple or three years. This shows me what I am missing.

I've been fortunate to see a sunflower field before, but not at this magnitude and I can safely say, the sight is marvelous.

I saw sunflower fields years ago in Colorado and Kansas and I still remember the sight. There is nothing like this here (upstate New York) that I am aware of, but I should go looking. Lovely photos. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

I've been on the lookout for a local sunflower field, but no luck so far. As fate would have it, I will be in Happy Valley late next week, but I'm not sure if I can visit Penn's Cave.

Wow - I've never seen so many sunflowers.
I just picked up a small group of sunflowers at the supermarket this week and have been enjoying them indoors all week. They are really quite long lasting. We planted our own small sunflower patch years ago in VA and it did provide photo opportunities, but not as wonderful as these shots, Felicia. You had a great day for your outing with such blue skies!

Lovely! What do they do with the flowers once the flowering has finished? or do they get dried and used for something else?

Swedish colors :) Our flag is blue and yellow. :) Love the blue sky and yellow sunflowers.
I love sunflowers! There is a photography here in Colorado that is on facebook and they flock to the Denver airport when the surrounding farm fields are full of sunflowers. Such happy photos!
