X Marks the Spot

Since we are in the middle of springtime, we took a road trip yesterday to Big Valley. The dandelions are at their peak and the fields are colored with yellow.

It rained in the morning and was cloudy the rest of the day. I didn't think the dandy's would be out because they like the sun and closeup at night, however, I did find some.

I had to play with these two images and made them into my dreamy, vintage, painterly images too.

and just for kicks, here is one in black & white.

Which one do you like best?

I also finally made some images of a quilt barn that is over there. It is right on the main highway but there was no one behind us so I stopped on the road and grabbed 2 shots.

I prefer the one with the colored doors - they just seem to light up the picture. The photos are all wonderful - and I can appreciate capturing a shot or two on a busy road - sometimes it takes a dozen trips or more to capture one of two barns that I usually miss because of the traffic - the trials and tribulations of a photographer. :-)

...I was in Amish land yesterday, but the dandelions are just beginning to pop up. I did see a BIG batch of trilliums though. Come on Felicia, don't make me choose among all these great images, I would have been happy to have taken any of them! I do need to visit the Big Valley this summer. Thanks so much so sharing!

We just don't have barns like these in the south. Very nice photos. I like the vintage ones best. The quilt barn is really beautiful. I hope you will have a good week.

Such wonderful scenes you captured with your camera. I prefer the ones with color but they are all lovely. Visiting from Tom's.

I also enjoy playing with my images, but for these pictures,I do think I like the originals best. That's not to say that the edited ones are not good, just picking my favourite. Have a great week.

Nice scenes from Big Valley! Yes many dandelions here all of a sudden also... Sure do brighten things up after what seems like a longer than normal winter!

I like both the none dreamy and the dreamy, can't decide which one. I love the brilliant yellow flowers and bright green, but also love the same dreamy look of them to. I would love to see a field of dandy's

Great barn shots! Love me some dandies too! I like both shots but the colored one really shows off the dandelions!

I love color all the time. Although occasionally a black and white looks good in a certain venue. Carol

Gorgeous fields and barns - I really am drawn to your second photo and the last one of the quilt barn square is super too!

They're all up to your usual standard of excellence, but I think the first one is my favorite. The quilt barn is a surprise. It looks like a huge modern painting on the barn.

Great old barn and I like the one in color best.
Nice quilt barn square too.
I know most people don't like dandelions in the grass but I love to see a yellow polka-dotted
lawn. : )

I wonder what the owner's mind-set was... everything so gray and then those two red doors!!

Those dandelions look glorious Felicia. Funny how we don't like them growing in our garden but enjoy them in the wide outdoors. You took great photos. I liked the black and white very much, so striking! However, I do love the color.

As color I like first one.
For BW you need more contrast and structure. Go closer and closer to wooden house and find details there. Are there chickens?

The b&w looks more impressive, but I like all photos.
