The Mysterious Weather Rock

One Sunday afternoon last October 2016 when it was nice and warm, Mom and I went for a drive back in the mountains.  Did I ever tell you I love to drive in the mountains?  I think I've mentioned it before.  I think I was born to be a mountain woman.

Enough jabbering. Here are the some sights we seen that day.

spotted this little beauty shortly after we started back the mountain road.

the amish family sure has a pretty view don't ya think?

We went clear back as far as the road would go.  Then we got out and walked to the creek.

Good ole Penns Creek was low from a dry summer but still good eye candy.  Down the creek.

 Up the creek.

I like these big ole rocks and I was standing on them making images when I heard crunching under my feet.

Seem like there was some other little critters that liked to take the crayfish up there and eat them. I was crunching on the remains.

After we were done looking we headed back out and that is when we came upon the Mysterious Weather Rock.

click on the pic to read it better.

Yep that pretty much explains the mystery doesn't it.  😉😊

Gorgeous, what more can I say, Felicia! I love your technique on these. I have a weather stick, it's easier for me to carry around. Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope that you find your back soon.

Such beautiful photos and the weather rock is an old idea but a great idea. One variation that I like is that if you can't see it is foggy.

I really love those top two photos Felicia. Do you use a special effect to get the look? The rock is very interesting froma historical point of view. Just imagine no weather forecasts on TV - just go and see the stone!

Fabulous photos of a beautiful place, but the thing that will stick in my mind forever is the wording on the sign: "LOCO RESIDENTS"...!!!
I love finding typographical errors, anywhere, everywhere, after a lifetime spent in the printing and newspaper industries.
Again, though, your photos are wonderful. They make me think of my home province here in western Canada: British Columbia is rife with rivers, rocks and streams. But I re-married and am now living on the prairie. It has its own beauty, but I miss my rivers and streams as well as the beautiful Pacific coast.
Keep up the good work...your photos are lovely, indeed.

I also love the mountains - lovely shots. That weather rock is classic!
Beautiful scenery and yes that family has an incredible unspoiled view. I smiled thinking of you on those rocks so you can get the perfect angle for your perfect picture and getting distracted by the crunchy shells. I'd have probably fallen into the water! The weather sign is funny ... someone went to quite a bit of work to get it put up out there.

Wow! This place is beautiful. I am not a fan of mountains but realize the scenery surrounding them is stunning. I hope I can visit more of them this year.

Beautiful mountain scenes and nice find!
I'm still laughing about the weather rock... Though I've seen a weather rock or two, I've never seen the preamble leading up to the interpretation. Someone has a good sense of humor!

As usual your photos are so pretty. I can understand that you like the mountains. I like them, too, and I also love the ocean. I feel fortunate to live in the vicinity of both. The view in the first two photos is amazing - how lovely to see that every day!
