A Non-Red Barn

A comment on one of my barn post's mentioned how most of my barn images have red barns.  There are some around though that are not. Today I want to share 2 that aren't red.

BTW in case you too are wondering why red is the predominate color click on this link for an explanation.

Now here are the non red barns for today.

I shared the first barn before, however I moved around and made multiple images from different perspectives. It was an overcast morning which was perfect for making images.  There also used to be a fence on the left side in the grass and they have removed it.

These images were made in the evening as the sun was going down. What caught my attention in addition to all the glorious light in the background was the colors in the foreground around the barn. It almost looks like a painting.

A wider view across the valley with all that warm light. I can't resist. Here are two more red barns.

Why not stop over and pay Tom a visit and join in with your barn images.  Anyone else have non red barns in their area?

I still have lots of autumn images to share in a day or two. Have a great week everyone.

Autumn Scenes ~ Part 2 (Barns Galore)

Well the leaves are about gone and I had 2 really good days and 1/2 a day.  Today I'm sharing the images from the 1/2 good day.

All these images were made today.

Some are barns I've shown before but the surroundings are different

Autumn Scenes ~ Part 1

Well autumn is at its peak here in Pa and Mom and I have been out leaf peeping.

I have made hundreds of images from Oct 18 & 19th so I'll start off tonight with some and share more later. Hope you don't get tired of autumn scenes.

When I first arrived at this spot there was more fog along the mountain than shows here.  I waited here for a good while till it cleared. I didn't mind, this spot is so beautiful and only a few miles from my house. See the moon over top the tall green tree on the right.

Fog along the mountain.

Here the fog is almost gone. I was here so long there are now airplane contrails added to what was there.

I actually came back the next day because the sky had a bit more drama. This was the 19th. Opposite side of the road.

Later in the afternoon of the 18th we snuck over to Big Valley. Spotted these little amish girls on the way home from school. They seen me taking there picture that's why two of them are hiding their faces, seems like the other 3 didn't care.

We were almost home when I spotted this pretty scene.  I seen it as we were going by it. I had to turn around and go back.

On the 19th in the afternoon we went back into the mountains where I made the above two images.

Have you ever heard that quote "The mountains are calling and I must go", well that's pretty much me. I would live in the mountains if I could.

I have many, many more to share if you will permit me too. I have the titles stirring around in the back of my mind.

I'm sharing today with Tex at Run Around Ranch for GOOD FENCES

a BIG thank you to all our hosts' and hostess'.  Make sure you stop over and pay them a visit.

Autumn Road Trip 2016

Mom and I took off Saturday for northern Pa. We thought the leaves would be turned color more north of us.  There were some spots that did have more color but all in all they are not any further ahead than us in Central Pa.

Here are some of the sights we seen.

This is the Marion E. Brooks Natural  Area

You can read the description of what's here.

Interesting enough I only see white birch trees right around the monument.
But then we didn't drive over the whole area.

This is the only bull elk we seen and he was pretty far away. There was one cow with him and three other cows down the road a bit.  Some days you see lots and other days not so much.

We did see lots of empty fields but otherwise the mountain landscapes were breathtaking.

Nope there weren't any elk around the bend either.

Autumn Scenes

The trees are slowly starting to turn in my part of the world.
I think by this weekend we should be pretty colorful.
I hope to be taking a road trip this weekend and making some more images is in the plans too.

Here are some pretty scenes I found this past weekend and today.

I've shared the last two before but not from the angle that included the trees.

PS just for a little fun. 1 of these was made with my DSLR and the other 4 with my phone.
No prize but can you tell which is which? Just curious.
