A Non-Red Barn

A comment on one of my barn post's mentioned how most of my barn images have red barns.  There are some around though that are not. Today I want to share 2 that aren't red.

BTW in case you too are wondering why red is the predominate color click on this link for an explanation.

Now here are the non red barns for today.

I shared the first barn before, however I moved around and made multiple images from different perspectives. It was an overcast morning which was perfect for making images.  There also used to be a fence on the left side in the grass and they have removed it.

These images were made in the evening as the sun was going down. What caught my attention in addition to all the glorious light in the background was the colors in the foreground around the barn. It almost looks like a painting.

A wider view across the valley with all that warm light.

Ok......so I can't resist. Here are two more red barns.

Linking with Tom for THE BARN COLLECTIVE.
Why not stop over and pay Tom a visit and join in with your barn images.  Anyone else have non red barns in their area?

I still have lots of autumn images to share in a day or two. Have a great week everyone.

Felicia, who cares what color the barns are, these images are out of this world! It's hard to choose a favorite, but the rusty weathered one caught my eye. Thanks so much for joining in the this week. Please stop back when you can.
Great barns - love the light and the different views. We have barns that are white and some are yellow or green - depends on the farmer's preference I guess - but many red ones too.

really beautiful - well-maintained or weathered.

I agree with Tom. With the camera in your hand, the colour of the barn is immaterial. Just love the whole scene surrounding the old barn.

Reminds me of the long bike rides I used to take this time of year through Lancaster County.

I always enjoy seeing American barns as their wooden structure makes them so much more pleasing to the eye than our metal ones. And red would have to be my favourite colour for them!
The light is just wonderful in your shots, really lovely photos Felicia!

Gorgeous and I love any barn image you put up. Carol
All the colors you captured are so beautiful. The Autumn colors make for such nice photos. I have seen many non red barns especially in Amish country. Hope you have a great week.

Interesting choice of colors, it almost looks to formal to be a barn. I should get some local barn photos and join that meme.

if you did not tell us the barn is a barn in the first couple of photos I would think it is a home. wow, what a barn.. I am wondering what their home looks like. gorgeous photos. I love the one that looks like a painting... I had no idea about the red color, and now I know.. tradition rules.
Your pictures nearly always look like fine art paintings to me Felicia. Honestly most of the barns we see here in this part of Oregon are kind of decrepit and rundown ...sort of weathered and no color ....now that I think about it, that is rather sad. They should be red! Although your non red one was beautiful too. The link was interesting.

So this is where all the colors of fall went! They sure haven't shown up here in eastern Virginia. Love your header.

The green barn is immaculate Felicia, at first I thought it was a home 😊 Your autumn colours are stunningly beautiful, love seeing them!

Love the beautiful autumnal colors. They really add life to these idyllic scenes. Your barns are beautiful, and interesting to hear why barns are generally painted red. There are a few white and brick/stone barns around here in addition to the red ones.
Magnificent fall colors.
