Pencils Macro Style

Well I have found a new subject that kind of intrigues me for now.
I am still working on learning how to use the macro lens.
Just when I think I've figured it out, I'm wrong.
I discovered something else too, you don't always have to use a tripod,
but you have to be able to hold really still.

Anyway my new subject.

I used the flash on this one, that's why it looks different. I like the natural light best.

Some of these are not 100% focused, but remember, I'm still learning. :>)

Sharing with MACRO MONDAY 2
&
MACRO MONDAY.

Have a great week everyone.

Hello Felicia!:) I'm sorry it's taken me so long to visit you, but after my recent break it's been difficult catching up. An interesting and fun idea to photograph the coloured pencils. I love your macro shots, they are brilliant!:)

Original thinking, and really good work! Me? I just ramp up the shutter speed.

The macro brings out such interesting colors and textures, and grain of the wood, Felicia. It makes me want to see the process of making the pencils and how they insert the colors in the wooden cylinders so tightly.

Interesting choice of subjects. The images do help you gauge the depth of focus, something that gives me trouble. Thanks for visiting my blog while I was on the road. Having been without Internet much of the past two weeks I have a huge correspondence backlog.

Very pretty! I have a macro lens but hardly ever use it as my hands are too shaky. I know I should use my tripod but I'm too impatient for that..lol

These are amazing -- especially the third one, what a different way of looking at your subject (one I never would have thought of, even though I do love colored pencils).

Nice work! You could do an ad for the pencil company.
