These columbine grow wild by the lane to our house.  Not sure how they got there, but they sure make for beautiful photo subjects.

Dandelions and Fences ~ Part 1

As promised, I'm sharing some more images of our bumper dandelion crop from this year.

These images were made in the same area as the Amish farms of the "halter" and "horseshoe" fence.

This farmhouse had the normal blue door.  Most of the old order Amish have a blue door on their house.  This is supposedly just a custom or tradition,  but there is also a superstition that says it keeps evil away from the house. A witch won't cross the threshold of a blue door.

I just like the contrast of the blue against the yellow field of dandelions.

This is my favorite. Captured on a Sunday afternoon, I've titled this

"Going Home".

This family was out visiting and were returning home.

I like the joyful abandonment of the little girls running ahead of their Mom and Dad.

Of course I'm linking with Tex at RUN AROUND RANCH for this weeks addition of

These images were made the beginning of May. The dogwood blooms have already faded.

So again....I'm a bit behind, still I wanted to share them.

Halter Fence

Hi friends. It's Thursday, time for Good Fences with our hostess Theresa at Run Around Ranch.

Right across the road from the horseshoe fence in my last Good Fences post I found another interesting fence....the halter fence.

Both the horses in the field behind the fence already had halter's on so maybe it was just there for decoration.

Another perspective of the horseshoe fence

and an interesting fence post with barb wire.

Let me just say here that all these fences including the horseshoe fence are on an Amish farm.  They like to use alot of barb wire which makes for interesting images.

And how lucky could I get.....while I was standing there, here they came.

Makes for a downright purty picture doesn't it?

Oh and btw....we had a bumper crop of dandelions again this year, some of which you can see in this image.

Next week I'll share some more dandelions and fences.

Make sure you stop over and visit TEX at RUN AROUND RANCH to see more

Springtime love

I was at the arboretum one day to see the tulips and I heard this fellow singing in a tree.  I think he was in love, because there was another one in the tree too.

Oh and I don't know what kind of bird it is....mockingbird maybe????? I'm sure someone will know.

Horseshoe Fence

Hurriedly doing my "fence post" again.  I'm test driving a Tamron 16-300 mm lens.

What do you think?  It seems a little sharp on some landscapes, at least for me. Time to make in camera adjustments. Not sure if i will keep or return.

I'm so behind again, seems like I have little time anymore for visiting. I must get ready to go to work again in about 15 minutes.

Of course I'm linking with Tex at GOOD FENCES.

Stop over to see more great fences.

Pussywillows ~ Nope Japanese Fantail Willow

UPDATE ~ I have discovered these are Japanese Fantail Willow.
Thank you Google

Made my first visit of the year to the arboretum.  There wasn't much there. The did have some big planter's with tulips (I'll share those later) and these funky looking pussywillows. They don't look like conventional pussywillows but I think that's what they are.
