Hoar Frost

Saturday night into Sunday morning we had a dense fog settle down so along with the cold temperatures we woke to a winter wonderland of heavy frost on the trees and whatever else it would stick to on Sunday morning.

I was able to get a few pics in the yard of my plant hooks and some pine trees. However due to time restrictions I was not able to drive around for a few hours and get all the images I would like to have captured.  So here is the collection I do have.

Sorry its a picture heavy post. I didn't want to split it into to posts'

Such beauty. Love hoar frost and the way it sticks like glue and leaves such pointy edges. Makes for a magnificent world. Carol

Awesome pictures Felicia! I love a frost like this and I noticed there was a hoar frost on the everything on my drive to the city this morning but, of course, I couldn't stop and didn't have my camera. That's always the way. The shots of the garden hooks are wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

They are all so beatiful and awesome. Thanks for letting me see that detail of nature which i haven't seen yet. I am amazed at myself that despite that, i dont feel so deprived.

I thought it was fireworks! I love these. We have gotten the same kind of frost here in the mountains of VA a couple of times.

How beautiful! The frost crystallize on the hook - it seems impossible to have such intricate structure just from a cold snap!

Thank you so much for sharing these lovely photos at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/12/smithsonian-art-museum-west.html
