Assorted Fences

cleaning out my fence archive folder today.

I came up behind this buggy one day a year or so ago in Big Valley. Since it was right on a curve I did not pass as I could not see if a car was coming.  As I slowly followed the buggy I raised my camera and snapped this picture.

Later as I reviewed my images from that day...the more I looked at this one the more I liked it except for the light poles and lines.  So I painstakenly set to work with the clone tool.  Then I applied a pencil portrait effect to the image.

I kinda like it.  What'dya all think?  Oh and there is a fence in there too...see it?

Cool effect! But I've never seen a white buggy. Interesting. I knew it was Amish country by the first pic. Beautiful! We're visiting Wisconsin Amish country this weekend. Love the photos.

i like your sketchy edit. :) love those great farm spreads, too.

the sign to the left of the 2nd gate in my post is a texas cattle raisers sign. most registered ranchers/members display them.

I like what you did to remove the light pole. Beautiful country scenery all the way around. And besides, you couldn't pass....the law states no passing with double yellow line!!!
How pretty It all is. You do live in great fence and barn country! I like very much what you did with that last picture. Though I have to say I wasn't even thinking of the wire in the first photo ... It just brought back fun memories of our traveling days.
Great archive, I like all those barns.

I've seen a few buggies in my days (Ohio and Pa., usually). Your treated image makes it seem like it was raining cats and dogs!

Love your photos from your beautiful valley!

Nice edits on the last photo, looks much better without the pole or wires and I like the finish you gave it.
Your photos are always wonderful and the scenes so peacefully country. Great shot of the buggy and I love how you gave it an edit. I love that clone tool too.
Don't work too hard these next 7 days.
Have a nice weekend. cm

Good morning Felicia!
Love all photos and I like too the pencil portrait effect to the image.
Have a happy Sunday.

I like the effect. But then, I don't mind the wires in the original picture. They make a contrast to the old-fashioned way of life represented by the wagon.

Beautiful pictures of different fences.
Theresa would have been happy with it :-)
A very artful rendition of the buggy. You needed heavy equipment to remove all the distracting utility poles!

First-off, I am happy to note that you are back blogging. Perhaps, things are settling down a bit for you. If so, happy for you!
Next-up, the photos are superb, as usual. The pencil effect is almost victorian looking.
Have a Beautiful Day, Felicia!
Peace :)

Love the pencil effect of that image! I am starting to delve into that medium myself. It gives me a break from trying to get that perfect image and just play. Hope your 7-day work week wasn't too bad!
