Winter Scenes

Winter scenes spotted in my part of the world in recent days.

Winter fun

sled riding and snowman building....something not hard to do since we have no shortage of snow.

pretty barns and furry horses under pretty blue skies.

hard to see the horses here but they are up there and some cows too.

snow spatter.....from the plows blasting through the drifts and blowing the snow up onto the trees.

amish buggies on the road even though its bitterly cold with blowing snow.

and the most unusual scene I spotted yesterday on my way home from the office was this one below.
made me cold looking at them as I drove by at a snails pace.

four amish women walking along the main highway in the bitterly cold and blowing snow.....this would be worse than being in the buggy. brrrrrrrrrr

One more pretty little barn. I like the unpainted portion and the boards criss crossing on the side.

And that's the report from my part of the world.

How beautiful and varied the earth is..!Great pics..!
Pretty countryside and barns. Amish women in our neck of the woods would hitch a ride under those circumstances... I think. Looks really cold.

Very nice winter scenes and I love both your barns.
Beautiful scenes even if they leave me shivering on a very hot day here. I just love the photo of the buggy in that driving snow. And those women walking in the snow. Makes for a beautiful scene but why???

Love that last photo of the red barn. I'm looking at all your snow with great envy. I went skiing today and the snow at our local ski resort is looking mighty thin. And all week they're predicting warm temps and sunshine, but no precip. Ugh! Wish you could ship some of that snow to our mountains.

Beautiful scenes, I especially like that fourth picture. Looks very cold there especially in the three pictures with the Amish! I wonder, would they have accepted a ride if one was offered?

All wonderful shots. I see that 4th shot as a wonderful Christmas card.

Hi Felicia, As you will know, I'm into collecting old postcards. As I was looking at your post today I was thinking that the folks who produced those postcards would have loved to have had you around to take photos for them. You definitely have that ability to take a postcard kind of view. Nice work! John

Beautiful cold and snowy scenes. Much like our part of the world too. I love the huge red barn on the farm across the valley. It really stands out in the whiteness around it. Have a great day.

Beautiful scenes. That blowing wind and snow! I suppose the Amish choose their way of life. Your red barns sure stand out beautifully in the snow. Thanks for sharing this week.

The red barn with the silo and the woods in the background is a real beauty! Very pretty capture. It has been a while since I have gone sledding, but I did enjoy some pretty exciting rides when I was younger.
