Big Valley Fences ~ Part 11

This is my third and last week featuring animals and fences in Big Valley.

Oh you may see an animal once in awhile in later post's.

Today's post is dedicated to the horse.

I stopped beside this fellow and asked "what happened to your horse" , or something along that line, and ya know....I can't for the life of me remember what his answer was, its been at least 6 months since these were made...so I'm sorry I can't tell you the story of why he's pulling his buggy.

He seems to be looking longingly at the horse in the field like he's thinking "boy I sure could use you now".

the above 2 mother and their foals were in the same field.

And here is the surprise animal that I mentioned last week.

I have no idea what kind of deer it is, he was in the field next to the big brown horse. I have been back past there since I made this image and the deer is gone now.

Make sure you stop over and visit our fabulous hostess Theresa at

RUN AROUND RANCH to see more great fences.

Such wonderful animals. The horse in the top shot seems to be offering words of advice or encouragement. It looks very much like our Fallow Deer, commonly kept in parks near big houses in England.
Love all your pictures of the horses Felicia!
And the funny horse in suit and with a hat on I like also :))
Have a fine day

Horses are beautiful and majestic. Then you see one of those pint-sized ponies, and I get all girly.

Hello Felicia!:) The first photo is a puzzle, but it made a fantastic picture. The mothers with their foals are such pretty scenes, and I like the close up of the horses grazing.
ALL the horses are so handsome and looked like they are well cared for. Great fences

I love all of these shots! Horses are one of my favorites. I'm sure there must be an interesting story behind that guy pulling the buggy!
Gorgeous horses and settings. So peaceful and serene. I am sure there is a good reason the guy is pulling the buggy. Looks like an Amish fellow.
Great shots.
Have a good weekend.

oh the hores are so beautiful. I always feel sad when I see them pulling a cart, it's so unnatural!!

Hi Felicia,
Your photos are wonderful. I particularly like the photo of the man pulling the cart, for two reasons; 1) gives the man a taste for how blessed he is to have the help of the horses and 2) i have pulled trailers (bicycle trailers with stuff on it) and your photo reminded me of that also.
The rolling hills in the first photo want me to find that spot and go for a nice long walk there, wherever that is.
Thank you for much for sharing your photos with all of us to see, and stopping by my blog.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)

Real nice group of horse themed pictures and fences. Love the composition and scene with the horses and fellow pulling the wagon you've captured in your first picture!

The deer in the last picture is an Axis deer. They were introduced from India and are also called chital deer which means spotted in Indian.

What a nice collection of horses!

The deer probably thought that the grass is greener on the other side... Great shots again, Felicia!

so many fine horses Love it!
I love the irony of the shot of the horse in the field and the man pulling the buggy. It is a lovely photo, too.

I had a couple of horse shots in my 'Edible' thematic photography this week. They always seem so contented when loose in a field even if they are fenced in.
