Well I haven't see one of those washing lines in a while Felicia, jolly handy to be able wind the washing in and out :) It's a lovely house, would that be a communal property do you think ?
January 8, 2015 at 8:24 AM
Hi Felicia, Enjoyed these photos. Leave it up to the Amish to come up with a clothes line designed so you can reel-in the clothes. I have to agree with Sandra's comment ... that first pic is a work of art. John

Beautiful scenes. So nice to see all that laundry on the lines. What a great old farmhouse too!
January 8, 2015 at 8:27 AM
Lovely scenes, Felicia! I love the sky and the pretty pony! Have a great day!
January 8, 2015 at 8:37 AM
I have no more see dresses to lundry in the garden.
January 8, 2015 at 8:46 AM
Beautiful photographs, especially the first one. They have a hand painted look about them.
January 8, 2015 at 8:52 AM
What fun photos of Amishland. It was clever of them to put up a pulley system for hanging laundry. No one would want to be outdoors hanging laundry today, at least not up here (-4 F.) Have a lovely day!
January 8, 2015 at 8:53 AM
Now that's one heck of a great clothesline and what breezes it's sure to catch! Nice little homestead they have there, pony and all.
January 8, 2015 at 8:59 AM
Oih, so lovely photos :)
January 8, 2015 at 9:04 AM

January 8, 2015 at 9:37 AM
There is something cheerful about laundry hanging on the line and drying in the breeze.
January 8, 2015 at 9:38 AM
Wonderful sunny pictures of a beautiful amish home :)
pssst...Did I really see a pair of long underpants hanging there? :D
Guess it's necessary if you wear skirts in the winter ;)
January 8, 2015 at 9:41 AM
Very nice! LOVE the pony :)
January 8, 2015 at 10:02 AM
That 1st shot is a show-stopper, for sure, Felicia. I had to sit and ponder it awhile, though. How are they going to reel that one line in with things hanging on the top line, too? Guess someone really tall is going to have to intercede :)
January 8, 2015 at 10:08 AM
I remember my grandmother with reels like that for hanging out laundry!
January 8, 2015 at 10:47 AM
That is the only way we dried our laundry for many years. Even when I moved to town, still had a cloths line, but eventually stopped using it.
January 8, 2015 at 10:54 AM
I like the well organized clothes line that can be reeled in from that the house. The pulley system is so practical and well designed. A fine group of images.

Cute horse, and nice pics!
January 8, 2015 at 10:57 AM
Nice daily life scenes.
January 8, 2015 at 11:34 AM

I'll never get the interest in fences.
But I loved the pony.

An ingenious washing line. I remember when I was young every house had its washing out on a Monday morning, now everyone seems to dry their things with electricity - everyone except the Amish and me.
January 8, 2015 at 12:35 PM
:) Great pictures! I love first one.

Love these photos! To me there is something very appealing about hanging laundry. And the pony, of course...

These are wonderful. That 1st shot is great. What a cool idea with the Pulley system for the laundry. The pony behind the fence was cute.

Gorgeous scenery! Nice to see a clothesline and that they still exist in other parts of the world. They are illegal here which is a shame. I love the smell of freshly aired dried laundry. Cute pony!
January 8, 2015 at 10:50 PM
I love the pony photo and the clothes on the line, it looks like a lovely place and a simpler time.

Famous photoseries and a perfect construction for the clotheslines, it is made "with love"... (I have long clotheslines too in my garden and I like, how the fresh clothing is fluttering in the wind)
Have a great weekend
