A Character Tree

I have a question for you all completely unrelated to this image.

For those of you who have it...what do you prefer - Photoshop or Lightroom
and why? Thanks for feedback.

What a beautiful Black and White.

I am still learning Lightroom, but I use it a lot. It's great for editing, there are more possibilities than in Photoshop. It's also non-destructive, so you can always reset your photo to the original or wherever in the process you want to get very easily. However, I also love to add textures and sometimes words to my photos, and this is not possible in Lightroom. So I use both, but I am using Lightroom more and more. I also love the way you can organize your photos in Lightroom - that is a great feature!

Nice shot! I've used Photoshop elements for years, but recently began using Lightroom and I like it better. Lightroom takes a bit to learn - I ended up taking a class to get started.

I like this shot for its curving road and stark tree. It has fine b&W qualities. I have both but tend to use Photoshop more. Probably because I've used PS for several years before I acquired Lightroom.

Lovely image.

I have LR and like it a lot. I use that for the majority of my editing.
If you want to use textures, there are options other than PS. I use a program called onOne Photo Suite, and I like that too as I can do all sorts of manipulations of textures in that program. i also use it to add a finishing touch to my photos. I used one of their b & w presets for today's image and added that after I had done all other edits in Lr.

That is a remarkable image in black and white. I love this bare tree against the mountains.

I like Lightroom very much. It can do so many things. I like Photoshop also, but I am not good with it yet. I am learning. There are also free presets for Lightroom and they can create fantastic effects.

Best wishes to you.

It is stunning this image. I use Photoshop Elements with the Topaz plugins. I never really cared for Lightroom. I still have it installed on the computer. Just don't use it.

That's fantastic and right up my alley! I use both so I don't necessarily have a preference.

I'm just learning Lightroom (along with the new camera). There are some good tutorials on the Internet, and I'm finding it pretty easy. I,too, was wondering which program to get and a photographer friend said I should try Lightroom. Previously, I used the Aperture program on my Mac but that is soon going to be defunct. I like your photo in B&W - makes me want to follow that road.

Sorry, can't help you on either. I use Paint Shop Pro. Love the black and white.

Great image!

Unfortunately, I can't help you with photo editing sources. A friend of mine, who's an expert with Photoshop loves ACDSee - in her opinion that's all I'd really need and it is quite economical, too:
ACDSee.
Cheers,
