Swamp Church

I had to run an errand after I left the office so of course I went driving on the back roads looking for images. It was a bit windy but otherwise it was a gorgeous fall day. Our early color leaves are fading and the later color trees are coming on.

I drove by the end of the road and then backed up when I seen the name on the road sign......so I drove down Swamp Church Road.  This is what I found.

the closer I got I spied fences and gates. Ahhhhh yes, I can share with Tex at Run Around Ranch

It was a pretty little church sitting out there in the countryside on private ground.  The church is not used anymore and is rumored to be haunted.  I did not go near the building, just made my pictures, turned around and left.

Linking with Theresa at RUN AROUND RANCH for GOOD FENCES.

I've been doing this too lately, even more than usual. Great places to roam and catch a cool fence, like you did here. Funny how when buildings are left empty someone labels them as haunted. This one though, appears like one that we should be gathering at for joy and life! It would be a grand to open it to the public as a peace garden!
That is a charming little church. I love finding sweet little churches sitting out in the country. Reminds me of better times in our lives.
Wonderful old fences and wonderful old Church. Somebody must be caring for it----it looks so nice. I wonder what denomination it is/was.

Pretty pictures Felicia. That church is in a lovely location.
Of course if I wanted to keep that place for myself I would spread tales about it being haunted - just a thought.

oh that country landscape is so pretty. i really like that old church, it would be nice to see someone rennovate it and use it as a church or even a home!!

i always favored this quaint little churches. big, elaborate, costly churches don't impress me, such a waste of money!!

happy weekend!!
How can a church be haunted? That just seems wrong (LOL). Beautiful pictures, love the graceful tree shadows on the church -- and again the wonderful Fall color!

Beautiful fall scenes. I'd love to find an old church like that, or perhaps a school to turn into a home. (Ghosts don't bother me since I don't believe they exist.)

Thanks for viewing my fence this week.
