Mushroom Macro

I discovered a funky looking mushroom this morning so I decided to try to make some macro images.

I think perhaps what I have images of is a "shaggy mane mushroom" or Coprinus comatus.  I'm not sure so if anyone can definitely id it that would be great.

The one above was about 6 inches tall and about 2 inches around.

There is more info at this LINK if your are interested.
The links says they are edible - if this is indeed the shaggy mane - but I don't think I'm gonna try, not being sure and all.

A few feet away these 3 were just coming up out of the ground. The biggest one was perhaps 2 inches tall.

Speaking of mushrooms, remember this post about the funky mushrooms. Well this is what they ended up looking like - just a pile of...well it almost looked like petrified wood.

Also spotted this little guy today....struggling up through the leaves to catch the rays of autumn light.

this little guy was working away when I visited the arboretum on October 7th.

Hope you all have a great Monday.

A long time ago we had a lot of a similar mushroom pop up, I also assumed it was Shaggy Mane, but for some reason they no longer do. Isn't Rozanne a marvelous geranium, they don't know when to quit.

Such a strangely shaped mushroom. Even the colouring and texture is strange. Great photos.

I see them too but stoped trying to ID them. :) Love your fall images. :)
I saw a few mushrooms in our yard this week. They were bigger than my feet combined. They looked like they would be delicious. But, like you, I didn't dare try because I didn't know what they were. As usual, your photos are lovely, Felicia.

Great macros of the mushrooms, flowers and bee! I especially love the bee shot!

Oh, yes, the old cars are part of the ambiance of the Wigwam Motel, parked there to make you feel like you stepped back into the 50s! :-)

I have never seen mushrooms like those...really cool shots!! Are they edible?
You have really cool fungi! In all stages. There is one little marigold still blooming in our flower box (we don't really garden, it is just here at the RV Park). Anyway it's hanging in there like your pretty daisy.
