Amish One Room School's and a Barn

Took a drive over in Big Valley on Saturday to see if I could find any fall images.

Found these three Amish one room school houses.

the school is the building in the middle.

The image above was made using the HDR setting on my camera. The wind was blowing and it made some of the tree branches look like a double image.  I'm still trying to understand this setting on my camera.  I added a vintage effect to make this image look like a painting.

Beautiful images. I have been experimenting with HDR and the blur is something that occurs but I just go with it. I wouldn't have noticed the blur if you hadn't pointed it out. I love the effect.

lovely photos...and the sky in the HDR one is fabulous! Very different from my HDR settings- I love the blur.
A gorgeous series!

This is a beautiful, peaceful countryside. HDR looks effective when you want to make your photo an impressive art. You were so successful by adding the vintage feel; I like the result.

Looks beautiful, but I didn't want to live like them, I love too much the modern world !
Beautiful images - love the one room schoolhouse! Nice effect you have created, too. xo Karen

Amazing pictures, like time-travelling. But I agree with Gattina, I wouldn't choose to live like this, despite all of the beauty.

So very beautiful, autumn leaves along the East Coast are the prettiest and most colorful!

I like that red barn -especially the way the shape of the door mirrors the shape of the building.

Beautiful area! Love the school house and really like the Vintage look. Thanks for linking up!
I enjoyed your Amish school photos! We have Amish in our area too and they(their buildings and animals) are a nice subject for photos. I like the vintage effect you gave that photo.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Do you read the Amish Novels. I do .

The stories can bring your mind to these places you have taken pictures of.

My daughters mother in-law pass's me the books to read.

I love the stories. Sad at times but always a happy ending.

I like your images of one room schools. This kind of teaching situation has some distinct advantages and the students get to hear lessons repeated over different grades.

Such beautiful countryside. I love the edit of the old schoolhouse. I have been using the HDR setting on my iPhone lately but have noticed the double imaging when I upload them too. I don't know why it's doing that. It also makes two prints of the photo - one regular and one HDR. Often the regular one is better. I use the HDR effect in my editing in Picasa some as well.

These are great Felicia, and you do live in a beautiful area. Lovely countryside. I don't know much about the HDR setting and am a little intimidated by it I suppose. I should just jump in. I love the painting effect you have added, very frameworthy :)

Great captures.
They should be preserved as documentaries for our children's children.

Beautiful photos! I also really like the contrast with the carriage that have the modern sign on its back.=)
