Purple Pussy Willows or Mexican Sage

A big thank you to Carola Bartz for the id of my flower....It's Mexican Sage.
Thanks Carola. And they are not pink flower but a different shade of purple.

I really don't know the name of these flowers and couldn't find it either, so I call them purple pussy willows.

Whatever they are....I think they are beautiful and I made a bunch of images of them when I found them at the local arboretum the other day.
they get little pink flowers on too.

Can anyone id them please?

It's Mexican Sage. I have it in my garden, too. It comes either with just purple flowers or two shades of purple or purple and white. Perhaps there are more varieties that I am not aware of. I love this plant, it's great in a low water garden. Lovely photos!

Your photos are great, I like the fuzzy bracts on the flowers that do look a lot like pussy willows. There is a lot of Mexican Sage in the San Francisco area I see when I visit my daughter, I wish it would grow up here.
