Fall Fences

One foggy morning on my way to work I found this quiet scene. The fog was beginning to lift a bit down in the hollow.

Yes there are fences there, at least 3 and a gate too. (On a side note....its interesting to me what a difference light can make on an image. The above image is so soft and pretty and the ones below even though they are pretty the light is rather harsh because of the sun being out and the images taken during midday. I believe I prefer the light in the above image. What's your opinion???)

Then I wanted to take you back to the same meadow where I posted about the Unfriendly fences. You can find it HERE if you missed it.  Actually you should look at it to see the differences.

This is what it looks like now.

It is all dressed in it's fall (goldenrod) best. The tree's haven't changed yet, perhaps I'll go back again.

And yes the sky was that blue, it was a gorgeous day. After looking at the last one again I believe I had the HDR setting turned on in my camera.

The images were made on September 15, and the unfriendly ones were made in May.

Wow. The sky is spectacular, as are your compositions of the area. I can see myself walking there enjoying all God's beauty.
The colors range from the lovely to the beautiful. Such a nice drive to work you have.

Wow, splendid images!
Beautiful. And I like both, actually. Depends upon the subject. The first looks so pastoral, gives a gentle, subdued impression. The later ones are bright and cheerful. Like both! Need both.

I think all lighting is special, each has their own value, like the calm and peacefully warm feeling I get from your first photo, but then even a bit darker and highlights of sunbeams can fight against that, or even more brightly is the full sun and especially those fluffy clouds to add more beauty. Yes even shadows are a great sense of lighting for me too, gosh how can one pick one over another at times!

Would ya just look at those beautiful clouds too!

I love both styles. That first photo is mystical and lovely, like a poem. The others are dramatic and stunning like orchestra music!
Such gorgeous pictures, Felicia!
The road with many flowers are just stunning!

Thank you for your nice comment on my "Good Fences" post!

Lighting can make all the difference depending on the look you are going for.
The first shot is lovely with a soft-muted gentle feel. I like it but I also like the vibrant colors in the other photos. They really show off the landscape. That golden rod is awesome.

Beautiful scenes! Great photos!
I like the soft light for moods and landscapes, too. Like pictures of the lake I always take.

But the strong light is great for details, like on your Monarch pics.

I think there's a place for both grey and blue skies in photos. I think the most successful photos tend to be the ones that feel right when you're taking them - probably because they are reflecting your mood.

Beautiful scenes Felicia. I would love to travel down those roads!
I took the one road of country and you took the other road of country with fences. Then we both shared Gods country.

Great takes. Thank you for your pretty pictures. A delight!

Mine are up.

I like both early and middle of the day..your photos are so pretty. The goldenrod is breathtaking.
Really pretty countryside shots, and what a sky!! I always prefer the more horizontal light of early AM or late in the day. Just seems to make interesting!

All those photos are gorgeous in their own way - from the softness of color to the vivid ones.
I like both the ones taken early and the midday shots. And I could make out fence posts and maybe the gate in your top one. Enjoyed this post.

I also like the light in the top photo better - it's softer. That's a beautiful rural scene! However, the colors in the other pictures are gorgeous!

Great fences but that sky , WoW....so distracting!!

I like the light in both. What makes the top photo so special is the mix of color, light and subject makes it dreamy.

nice pictures.

Everyone (me included) takes pictures in punchy light that end up looking "hyper-real" - there are times when a much more subdued light is more attractive.

Keep going back to the photograph the same scene and you will see differences for sure all the time. Light is always changing. Shadows play a part in the scene too. Lovely images. Keep on shooting. Enjoy!

Beautiful pics.

I like different kinds of light in different ways. My favorite kind of light when I take photos is morning or late afternoon light. I like the shadows I can capture then.

The fading fog in the first photo gives it a peaceful, soft look that I really like. Yet I also love the vibrance of the goldenrod photos with their lively skies and colors! They look like they were taken hundreds of miles apart, they're so different - both beautiful!
Those skies are to die for! Such a lovely golden carpet!
