Rudbeckia

Rudebeckia is a plant genus of 23 species in the Asterceae family. The species is commonly called coneflowers or black eyed susans.

One Sunday afternoon in July I came across a field that was filled with these flowers.  There was bunches and bunches of coneflowers and these yellow ones, sort of like black eyed susan's but the brown in the middle was different. Since there are 23 species, I'm not sure which this one is but is sure is pretty.

I love how this one looks like arms wrapped around the bud.

I thought even the unopened buds were beautiful.

Ah lovely! I have a pot of these that I need to get into the ground but Mother Nature has sent her lots of rain and they have been a welcome sight on my back patio as I look out.

Great photos!

Love rudbeckia, I've tried to grow them here but alas they don't like our temperatures up here on the mountain. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos Felicia.
