Fort Roberdeau ~ Part One
In Blair County their is a replica of a fort that was built to protect a lead mining operation during the American Revolution. It is called Fort Roberdeau ~ The Lead Mine Fort. You can click on this LINK to get more information
I toured it on Saturday.

there is a farm on the grounds too. they use the old barn for a gift shop and small museum.

inside the gate are these four houses to the right. The first and bigger one is the officer's quarter's. We will visit that today.

rope bed. would you like to sleep on one of these. they may be fairly comfortable
looking across the compound from inside the door.
Next week we will visit the storage house and barracks.

My first thought on the one with bed is how narrow it was!
I think rope bed like the one in your shots here are the origin of the "phrase "sleep tight" - as a reference to keeping the ropes from sagging.
