Pasque Flower Seedhead

UPDATE ~ THESE ARE THE SEED HEADS OF THE PASQUE FLOWER NOT
WHORLED MILKWEED.

Apparently the sign at the arboretum was indicating something else and I thought it meant these.
SORRY FOR ANY CONFUSION.
Thanks  to EG CAMERA GIRL for the correct identification

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The images were captured at our arboretum the first time I was there in early June.  There was a sign planted in the midst of these spent blooms that labeled them as whorled milkweed.
Whatever it is.....they are very cool.
These are very beautiful, and I think I like them even more than the crisp ones on Today's Flowers and the dahlias, lovely as they are. The blurry background absolutely adds a mysterious quality that I love. I've never seen this flower before either!
