Statice

Afternoon friends.

I'm so excited.  My friend is a florist and grows alot of her own flowers.  This afternoon I spent alot of time in her garden and I don't know where to start sharing.

So I think we'll start with the statice.  These are some of my favorites that I captured this afternoon

These are not fully open yet, but I thought it was so beautiful.

I don't want to overload you but here are three more that are just a little different color.

I frosted the edges to tone down all the green....sometimes it can overwhelm you. I should have done it on the above images too.

I'm linking up with Today's Flowers, Macro Monday 2, and I Heart Macro .

Stop over and visit for more great flower images.

As soon as I saw your flowers, before I read the post, I thought about how most floral arrangements always had statice in it. What a great photo op for you that your friend grows a lot of her flowers.

Great macro shots... I like the color and detail!
Those are beautiful pictures. I've seen them (of course) in arrangements , but don't think I've ever seen them growing before. How lovely this plant is.
I would love to take a walk in your friends garden!

I love the bright colors and multiple tiny blooms of the statice blooms, and also the papery petals that make such fun dried flowers for arrangements. I like your blurred edges too, the soft greens are lovely.

The buds are beautiful, too! We had a greenhouse nearby and the owner always let me take pics. They have since retired and moved to Florida. I miss those spring days.

A friend that is a florist is great! Hopefully I'll see some flowers in your posts that I've been trying to identify. These shots are wonderful and I like how you toned down that green a bit. I've been having the same issue with my shots so I've been dialing down the green slider in Lightroom, but that didn't feel genuine. Yours is a better idea.

I bet she uses tons of statice in her business. The purple and magenta are both lovely colours to work with.
Wow, beautiful captures. Felicia, I moved last Nov. from Blogger to Wordpress, so if you put a widget in the sidebar of Bloglovin" or LinkedIn, I can "follow" you:) Have a great week

Stunning, vibrant purple! Really gorgeous photos! Wanted to tell you too that I am so entranced with that lovely blue flowered bush I posted that I want to get one for my yard. Someone told me the name...I'll check it out with a local plant supplier!
